Our Promise

Your relationships are private, and the details you entrust to Keepah belong to you. We designed our architecture from the ground up so that we cannot read your personal data, even if we wanted to.

1. What Keepah Is

Keepah is a relationship intelligence app that helps you remember the important details about the people in your life. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

  • Your email address (for authentication)
  • Your name (as you provide it)
  • OAuth identifiers from Apple or Google sign-in

Your Relationship Data

The profiles, journal entries, chat messages, and personal notes you create are your data. This includes names, preferences, important dates, gift ideas, and any notes you record.

Device Information

  • Device platform for push notifications
  • App version for compatibility
  • Device token for notification delivery

Anonymous Analytics

We collect anonymous, aggregated usage data to improve Keepah. This data cannot be traced back to you.

3. How Your Data Is Protected

Encryption

Sensitive data is encrypted using AES-256-GCM. Your encryption key is generated on your device and stored in your device's secure enclave. We never have access to your encryption key.

Privacy Options

Your data is securely stored in the cloud with end-to-end encryption by default. If you prefer, you can switch to local-only storage in Settings, keeping all data exclusively on your device.

Zero-Knowledge Design

No one, including Keepah employees, can access your personal relationship data. We cannot read, decrypt, or analyze your data.

4. AI Features

When you use the AI chat feature:

  • Messages are processed by OpenAI's API to generate responses
  • We send only the minimum context needed
  • OpenAI does not use your data to train their models
  • AI features are entirely optional

5. How We Use Your Information

We use your information only to:

  • Provide and maintain the Keepah service
  • Authenticate your identity
  • Send notifications you opted into
  • Process subscription payments
  • Improve our service based on anonymous usage

We will never:

  • Sell your personal data to third parties
  • Use your data for advertising
  • Share your data with data brokers
  • Read or analyze your encrypted data

6. Third-Party Services

  • Apple / Google, authentication
  • OpenAI, AI chat (not used for training)
  • Stripe / Apple IAP, payment processing
  • Resend, transactional emails
  • AWS, encrypted file storage

7. Data Retention & Deletion

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. When you delete your account:

  • All data is permanently deleted from our servers
  • Your encryption key is removed from your device
  • This action is irreversible
  • Deletion completes within 30 days

8. Your Rights

  • Access, view all data in the app
  • Export, export your journal entries and data
  • Delete, permanently delete your account
  • Portability, request a copy in standard format
  • Withdraw Consent, disable cloud sync, notifications, or AI anytime

9. Children's Privacy

Keepah is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app or by email.
